She likes her eggs well-cooked (firm), and I like mine very runny. We've tried devices like this before for the microwave, and they were horrible.

The Poachie actually works. It shouldn't be too surprising...it's not unlike the egg poachers of long ago (double-broiler with little pans for each egg.

It's a cute little white silicone cup (with a chicken face, of course!). You place the egg in the Poachie and then use a slotted spoon to lower it into a pot of boiling water. In 3-5 minutes, depending on how you like your eggs, it's done!

Be sure to follow the directions exactly as they are on the packaging. My wife started cooking them and after 3 minutes they were still completely clear on the top. I asked her if she was supposed to cover the pot while they cooked. She pulled the packaging out of the trash and laughed at herself. You have to have the lid on for it to work.

Also, wait until the water is at a rolling boil before putting them in, or it won't be ready after 3-5 minutes.

Lastly, make sure your pot is big enough for the number of Poachies you are using. You might want to test it in a pot of cold water before your first time. My wife used a sauce pan that was just a bit too small to fit two silicone poachers in, and the result was we could only cook one egg at a time.

Once we got all that figured out, they worked great! The eggs didn't stick to the silicone, and they cooked perfectly. The poached egg popped right out onto our toast, and the Poachie was ready to be used for the next round of eggs.

Obviously, the short answer is that it depends on how old the children are, and how well they respond to startling scenes.

I saw the movie with my 4-year-old daughter and my 7-year-old son. Neither had nightmares, although there were scenes where my daughter had to cover her eyes.

Hello! It's got DRAGONS! There are going to be scary moments. There are quite a few times when a mouth full of teeth comes chomping down a mere inches from one of the characters. That, accompanies with suspenseful music and rumbling, roaring sound effects, will startle anyone, even the adults.

So, to answer the main question of "is it good for kids", there are two answers: "Yes", the storyline and morals are generally good for kids, and "Maybe" because of the scare factor, although most children should be able to handle it by far.

There are good morals in the story: being who you are, not caving to peer pressure, accepting others in spite of differences, avoiding "pre-judging" others (in this case, the dragons). And it is refreshing to see a parent apologize in this movie (the Dad apologizes for rejecting his son's ways earlier in the movie).

There are several points that might be worth discussing with your children. The biggest one that I would deal with in my family is "secret-keeping". We have a "no-secrets" policy in our house. So, when Hiccup (the main boy in the story) decides to keep his relationship with the dragon a secret from his Dad, that is something we discuss. (How might he have handled it differently?)

All that stuff aside, the movie is so good, if you don't have kids, you should still go see it!

It's a program from Joel Marion. Basically you have a 'cheat day' say on a saturday where you eat whatever and whenever you want aslong as you are not totally stuffing yourself beyond full.

Then the next 2 days are low carb ( protein and veges) followed by 2 days LOW GI ( lots of protein and low Gi carbs fruits etc) and then the remaining two days are slightly higher Gi, so you can include wholegrain pasta, rice, bread etc) all in moderation, 6 small meals a day.

I'm slightly changing my days to 3 low carb,2 low GI and 1 higher Gi then cheat day.

Exercise is HIIT as well as strength training.

There's plenty of good fats, carbs etc it's all to do with the leptin hormone...

As soon as I saw this book I knew I had to buy it, and I wasn't disappointed. I have a 2-year-old and do a lot of reading about discipline and health, but none of the resources I've found so far have addressed dental health so thoroughly. Dr. Brown's book tells you ALL the details about what to do as well as WHY, for a lot less than most books cost. This book is like a 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' but it's all about teeth. There is a ton of information in here: some is very practical and some is technical enough to clear up what my dentist is telling me about my chidren's teeth. Dr. Brown's style is very down-to-earth...you can tell she's a mom, not just a dentist.

I can't think of any questions that I could ask about my kid's teeth that aren't covered already in this book.

Being a stay at home parent can be very challenging at times. It is so nice to have this book as a resource. I really bought the book to learn more about orthodontics. My dentist told me that both of my children would probably need braces. I wanted to do some more research before dropping several thousand dollars in braces! What I found in Dr. Brown's book was a wealth of information and an answer to all of my questions regarding my kid's teeth.

Electric vs. Hybrid - is the car truly an 'electric car', or is it a hybrid?  An electric car is powered solely by batteries, whereas a hybrid is primarily powered by a gasoline-powered engine, assisted by a battery.  Not only are there differences in fuel, but it will impact other variables like top speed, vehicle weight and safety, range, etc.

Open body vs. Closed - some folks are selling 'electric cars' that are little more than golf-carts.  Be sure to check if the car can actually be enclosed for inclement weather and still be driven.

Top speed - in spite of advances in battery technology, electric cars do not match gas-powered vehicles for top speed.  Most electric vehicles would not be safe on a high-speed highway or interstate, but then again, most buyers aren't looking for an electric car do go long distances like that.  Frequently top speeds will be around 25-35 mph, though a few models offer slightly more speed.

Range - the bad news is that most electric cars have a short range relative to gas-powered vehicles.  Look for ranges around 50-60 miles being the norm.  The good news is that most electric cars can be charged at any electrical outlet.  Just be sensitive to the fact that some people may frown on you running an extension cord to their outlet so you can charge up your car (while they pay the electric bill)!

Street Legality - many models have restrictions on where they can be driven.  Because of the lower top-speeds, highways and interstates may be off-limits.  You'll see the term 'Neighborhood' used, meaning the vehicle must, by law, be kept to streets with lower speed limits.  Be cautious of some models that aren't legal even in neighborhoods...models that are little more than golf carts.

Availability of Power - be aware of what is available in your area as far as recharging options.  It is bad form (and illegal in some places) to simply plug in whereever you want.  Certain areas, such as in California, actually provide recharging stations.  In general, however, if you are keeping your daily range under 50-60 miles, you can just charge at night every night at your own house.

Time to Charge - some batteries take six to eight hours or more to reach full charge.  This may be a factor depending on your schedule.  If your nightly recharge is going to be shorter than that, you will need to find a way to charge it at work.

Battery Life - battery life for electric cars is usually measured in miles, ie: how many miles the car can be driven on a battery.  Typically you'll see numbers around 20,000 to 30,000 miles, although newer batteries are getting more mileage.

Cost to Replace Battery - you can't just run to Walmart and get some AA batteries to replace the ones in your electric car.  New batteries will likely cost $1500 to $3000 depending on the make and model of the car.  When considering an electric car, figure out how many miles you will be driving per year to know how often you will need to replace the battery.  Then figure out how much it will cost you per year to buy new batteries.  They may be expensive, but will still be less than what you spend in gasoline.

Using these factors, you should be able to find the right electric car for your needs.

If you compare it to the overall games availble to the Wii, it gets a mere 3-star rating.  If you are specifically looking for a non-competitive, easy-to-use, kid-friendly game, then Endless Ocean gets 4 1/2-stars.

Overview:  In Endless Ocean, you are a diver, helping to discover and catalog fish.  Along the way you help others by taking them diving and showing them specific fish, finding artifacts, or taking underwater photos.  As you add fish to your encyclopedia, you eventually unlock access to a large aquarium in which you can create your own environment, filling it with fish you have discovered.

The controls are simple.  It takes a bit to get used to at first, and sometimes the cursor moves a bit more quickly than I'd like.  But after a short while, the controls are second-nature.

The good:  Very relaxing.  No, seriously.  The music, the environment, the soothing colors, even the pace at which the character breathes helps you relax.  When my six-year-old son gets a little cranky because he keeps losing at Mario Kart, I have him put in Endless Ocean.  He is constantly finding new fish, and each one he discovers is exciting to him.  It is also a 'move-at-your-own-pace' kind of game.  If you want to complete the 'missions' (like taking someone diving), you can, whenever you want.  Or you can skip it and just go exploring.  It's up to you.  You're really on Island Time, mon!

The bad:  As mentioned, the controls in Endless Ocean are a little trick to learn at first.  Specifically, the cursor tends to move more quickly over the things you are trying to interact with.  It's almost like the creatures are 'slippery', and your cursor slips off of them easily.  In addition, this game can be very repetitive.  You dive, you explore, you interact with different fish to learn about them.  It doesn't seem to get boring for my son, but for an adult, it could get old.

Conclusion: If you like first-person shooters, games with crazy toons and lots of explosions, you will probably NOT like Endless Ocean.  If you want something different, fun, and relaxing, Endless Ocean is the Wii game for you!
