As soon as I saw this book I knew I had to buy it, and I wasn't disappointed. I have a 2-year-old and do a lot of reading about discipline and health, but none of the resources I've found so far have addressed dental health so thoroughly. Mainly they tell you to avoid sweets and brush your child's teeth using a non-fluoride toothpaste. Well, thanks, I could have figured that out without spending $19.95! Dr. Brown's book tells you ALL the details about what to do as well as WHY, for a lot less than most books cost. I'm worse than any 6-year-old: I always want to know WHY when any doctor tells me anything. You can tell a lot about how thoughtful they are from their responses. Dr. Brown's book is a perfect combo of real-dentist-science-information type stuff and experienced mom practicality. It totally spoke to me. I have to add that I've been scared straight, too. It turns out that the other books we were reading, even the well-known ones from big names, had so little information that we actually had a lot of bad habits that needed correcting. Although those books are still completely useful in other areas, they just don't go into detail about taking care of your child's teeth. I'm glad to have this information now before we got to the cavity stage, not to mention to the expensive bills! I like that the book goes way beyond the toddler years, too, so you know what to anticipate in the future. Thanks very much for the book and all of the good information, Dr. Brown! As far as I know there really isn't any other resource like it out there. I'm going to recommend it to all my mom friends.

This book is like a 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' but it's all about teeth. There is a ton of information in here: some is very practical and some is technical enough to clear up what my dentist is telling me about my chidren's teeth. Dr. Brown's style is very down-to-earth...you can tell she's a mom, not just a dentist.

I can't think of any questions that I could ask about my kid's teeth that aren't covered already in this book.

Being a stay at home parent can be very challenging at times. It is so nice to have this book as a resource. I really bought the book to learn more about orthodontics. My dentist told me that both of my children would probably need braces. I wanted to do some more research before dropping several thousand dollars in braces! What I found in Dr. Brown's book was a wealth of information and an answer to all of my questions regarding my kid's teeth.
